Fall Scene

A warm welcome and thank you for coming by to visit my blog and a big thanks to you if you have the time to leave a comment and/or join as a follower.  Please let me know you stopped by, so I can be sure and return the favor.

I got this idea from a tutorial on Tonic Studios website.  They have a wonderful how to but all I had was a Poppy Stamp die so I just made do.

I stretched the window die shape to make either a long window or door.  To create the window I die cut twice and attached so it gave the overall shape one more bottom panel.  To create the wreath I first punched a 1" circle and then used the 1 1/2" circle punch to create the round base for the wreath. I then attached the leaves around the circle.  I punched the four corners and added the sentiment and leaves to the bottom and mounting tape to the back of the window frame.

Another quick card design.

It has been ages since I used the Small Lace Butterfly die.  I first die cut the Decorative Labels Eight (3¼ x 4⅜”) size and embossed it with the Cassie Folder.  Then I die cut the largest one and attached them. I used a gold card stock behind the butterfly and added gold rhinestones.  I tucked the Massa Leaf and Border No 3 piece underneath the butterfly and framed it in black card stock.

Another quick card design.

I have had this piece of rhinestone sticker forever and finally found a way to use it.  The Delaney butterfly was coated with Sakura 3D Crystal lacquer and then I dusted it with red glitter before attaching it to the base.

Materials:
Poppy Stamps - Delaney Butterfly (top)  & Cheviot Butterfly(bottom)
Spellbinders 5 X 7 Matting Basics
Sakura 3D Crystal lacquer
Red Glitter
Rhinestone sticker

I thought this was a fun project, I stopped by a thrift shop and purchased a cut glass candy dish and a green vase.  I cleaned all the glass and thoroughly dried them and then used E-6000 glue and generously applied glue to the bottom of the vase and centered it in the clear glass base and let dry for 24 hours.  Next I glued the top of the green vase to the lid and set aside to dry.  I filled the vase with some flat green marbles from Michael's craft store.  I filled the bottom of the vase with water and I am using it out in the yard for the bees, birds and butterflies.  By using the flat marbles when the bees stop by they do not drown in the water.

Materials:
Thrift Store glass candy dish with lid (my was $4.00)
Thrift Store green glass vase (my was $1.50)
Michael's Flat green marbles ($1.00)
E-6000 glue

Using Negative Die Stem

A warm welcome and thank you for coming by to visit my blog and a big thanks to you if you have the time to leave a comment and/or join as a follower.  Please let me know you stopped by, so I can be sure and return the favor.

Another quick card design.
I very seldom use the negative die, not sure why I just don't think about putting it to good use. I first used the Spellbinders Matting Basic die and cut out the white card stock, then placed my Lavish Branch on it and die cut again.  I glued the layers of the flowers together and dotted them with the Viva Decor Gold.  For the Willow Dragonfly I coated the wings with the a Pearl Pen then after drying I dotted the wings with a Gold Pen.

Materials:
Memory Box - Lavish Branch, Primula Blooms & Willow Dragonfly
Spellbinders 5 X 7 Matting Basics A
Viva Decor Gold & Pearl Pen

This time I used the Martha Stewart 3 in 1 Hydrangea punch to create the flowers. Then framed them using the Spellbinders Matting Basics A.  I tucked a  few leaves into the flowers and added a little mounting tape to the back of each leaf.  To finish the flowers I dotted the centers with Viva Decor Glass Effect in Pink. Wonderful collection of South Dakota wildlife

Cold War Era missile site tour need to arrive early tour passes are limited
Looking down inside the Minuteman Missile

Lots of cave tours to visit

While driving around the area you will see lots of wild antelope, mule deer and even big horn sheep. The Badlands which are off in the distant are a stark contrast to the green lush valley floor with its meandering streams.   A word of warning, you have to drive through a small town called Keystone on your way to Mt Rushmore, the speed limit is 20 miles per hour,  you will notice a police car stationed on either side of town.  Do No Speed.
