Garden Bird House

No card today but I just wanted to post this fun picture of a bird nest.  I purchased three of these wooden birdhouses years ago and never has a bird used them. I finally give up on even checking them when I walked by the area.  Last weekend I noticed a bunch of nesting materials in one of the the boxes.  The birds are long gone so I slid open the latch and look at all the nesting materials those birds stuffed inside that box.  It is even coming out of the bottom of the box.  Not sure what type of birds made the nest.

  1. Wow! They certainly managed to stuff a lot in there didn't they, such a shame you missed the birds. We have several nests in our hedge - I don't get close though in case I frighten them away.

  5. Hi Diane, amazing the sorts and amount of materials birds use for their nests. I wonder what breed of bird it was. Maybe they will come back again, you'll have to keep a watch out for them, thanks for sharing your photos, Kate x

  8. That's so cute! Looks like somebody sure used it. They can be very discreet about their nesting sites.

  9. What a pity you can't tell which bird has used your delightful accommodation and funnily enough I have taken a photo today of our birds nest and it is definitely a bluetit, we have 8 eggs but you can't see them as Mum is sat on them, not posted it yet but probably will on Saturday , been a year or two since we have had a nest so we are really pleased.
