Blooming with Memories

For those that stop by my blog I mentioned that my father passed away in October 2016, at that time my mother also had developed ALS (progressive neurodegenerative disease that affects nerve cells in the brain and spinal cord) After 6 months of battling the disease she passed away last Friday.  I was in the process of making this design for her for Mother's Day.

Materials:
Elizabeth Craft Designs - Garden Notes Small Poinsettia
Fiskars - 1/4" circle
Memory Box - Twisty Stalk
Nuvo - Crystal Drops Dandelion Yellow
Poppy Stamps - Fairy Flower
Spellbinders - Fleur De Lis Squares
Spellbinders - Classic Squares Large

  1. Oh, Diane. I am so so so very sorry. That is really sad to lose your parents so close together like that. ALS is a horrible, horrible disease. I am so sorry she had to suffer with that- and I know you suffered watching her. God bless you my friend. I think you should frame that card in remembrance of your love for her. xo Diana

  2. Aww Diane, I too am truly very sorry to hear this. You've had so much sorrow already with your dad's passing and now your mum so soon after. Your only comfort is that your mum is no longer suffering but I know that at the moment is hard to think of when you're in grief for your mum. She would have loved this beautiful card you've made for her. I'm sending you my biggest hug that I wish I could give in person. Having lost both my parents I do know how you feel and you are in my thoughts. Take care, Debra x

  20. I am so sorry for your loss Diane. I lost my own Mum three years ago last Christmas, and no matter how prepared you think you are it still seems to come as a shock. I was admiring this pretty card before reading this and when I did, it reminded me that I still have the card I had made for my Mum for that Christmas. I never had the heart to send it to anyone else.
I hope you are coping but if you need someone to just cry or shout at please feel free to contact me. Sometimes we are so busy putting on a brave face for those we also care for and it can be easier to let go to a stranger.
