Oregon Coast Trip

Greetings everyone, no card today I wanted to share some of the pictures from our weekend trip over at the Oregon Coast.

I have included an literary of places we went and things we did and links to the various places.

Oregon Coast Trip
Astoria
Hotel - Cannery Pier Hotel & Spa (really romantic place to stay)
Astoria Column

 Seaside
The Candyman - Salt Water Taffy (180 flavors)
Lots of shops
You might see the Roosevelt Elk herd along Highway 101

Cannon Beach
Shopping – fabulous shopping of low to high price art, clothes and accessories.

Tillamook
Railriders - four seated, pedal powered, rail road bicycle along an inactive portion of the Port of Tillamook Bay Rail Road
Cape Mears Lighthouse – Nice tour of  1889 non working lighthouse
Tillamook Cheese Factory – Lots of samples and buy the cheese curb (aka squeaky cheese)
Railriders - bike pedaling 6 miles each way

Newport
Yaguina Head Lighthouse – Nice interpretive center, tide pools, no access to inside lighthouse
Historic Bayfront area – shops
Hallmark Resort – Very nice hotel & ocean view
Georgie’s Beachside Grill Restaurant – Great food, make reservations ahead of time, wait can be long to get in.

Florence
Sea Lion Caves – Fun elevator ride down into cave where sea lions rest
Hecta Head Lighthouse – 12 miles from Florence, ½ mile walk up to lighthouse
Sand Dunes

Sea Lion Cave - take elevator down into cave


Gold Beach
Spinners seafood Steak Restaurant – Good food

Coos Bay
Shore Acres Park – Gorgeous gardens & gift shop, right on ocean bluff
Shore Acres Park - beautiful gardens 


Cave Junction

Oregon Caves – 1 ½ hour guided walking tour inside cave.
