Christmas Bells are Ringing

Hello, my first Christmas card design.  I thought using the clouds would be a fun way to create the design.

Materials:
Impression Obsession - Fir Trees, Girl With Easter Basket
Lawn Fawn - Stitched Rectangle Frame
Memory Box - String of Bells
Taylored Expression - Cloud Border Die

Hornets Nest

This huge Hornet's nest is located in a tree out in front of our property. It is huge about the size of a basketball.   Now I do not know a lot about this stringing bug, I know they make the nest from paper substance derived from saliva and wood pulp.  From what I have read they are actually beneficial predators that help control a variety of insects that could otherwise become pests. It is hard to believe such a small insect could construct such a huge nest.

  5. That card is absolutely stunning!! I love the clouds as snow and the little garland of bells!!

As for that nest-yikes!! Those things HURT when they sting you too!! Our neighbor had one bigger then this in their tree and had it taken down. She is very allergic to the stings of these!!

  6. Wonderful way to use the cloud die to frame this wonderful & colorful card. The brightness of the bells really sparks the design...and loads of dimension. On the hornets, be careful of disturbing it. Hornets can have a dreadful sting, and here in the South, they can build a nest in the ground as well. If you disturb one while mowing, it can be a serious experience, and more so, if one is allergic to the stings. We've had several really horrible incidences of yard accidents caused by these creatures. They may be beneficial, but they can also be deadly if you get a lot of stings or have an allergy.
