Sweetheart Vine & Trip To Victoria, British Columbia

Hello and thank you for stopping by.  I am using this as a Valentine card but after I got it made I thought it looked more like a Christmas design.  Oh well.

Materials:
Dee's Distinctively - Small Leaves
Impression Obsession - Tiny Flowers
Martha Stewart - Branch Punch
Poppy Stamps - Small Blooming Poinsettia & Trailing Vine
Spellbinders Grand Squares
Nuvo Crystal Drops - Red Berry
Mounting Tape

We took a weekend trip over to Victoria, British Columbia, gosh it was a lot of fun.  We stayed at Delta Hotel by Marriott   (club level booking gets you free breakfast and dinner items) which is located right near the harbor.  At night the holidays lights across the harbor are stunning.  I have included just a few pictures below.  We went to Butchart Gardens and walked around in the rain, they provide umbrellas for your use in the park.  We had High Tea at the The  Dining Room restaurant, that was my first experience having high tea and my husband and I just loved it.  You sit in an enclosed greenhouse surrounded by orchids and tropical plants and enjoy tea and a three tier tray of delicious food.  Then at night the gardens light up and it is just magical.   By the way the park was almost empty not sure if it was the time of year or the weather.

  4. First, I think this is a wonderful valentine card! Love how you've used the usual poinsettia look with the flowers to create something special for a totally different holiday. For me, it works beautifully. Love the way you've layered the dies to create a lovely floral card...stamp a Valentine sentiment in the central section, Voila!(2)Loved the pictures. We visited Butchart Gardens long ago and how magnificent everything was. (we didn't have to walk in the rain though!) Sadly, didn't get to enjoy High Tea (on my bucket list) so I'm certainly happy to hear how much you enjoyed the experience. It sounds really grand, with spectacular vistas to appreciate while you are living the 'good life'. TFS & Hugs

Wow your photos do look magical! You lucky lady, I'm feeling a bit envious here. The gardens look amazing lit up. I would definitely go if I was well enough to travel that far. Debra x

  8. A beautiful card, I think it's just the red of the main flowers that makes it look a touch Christmassy. If you did them in hot pink for instance it would look quite different. That said I still think it looks stunning and I'd be more than happy if it was my valentine x
