Be Mine

Hello and thank you for stopping by.  I used the Martha Stewart Punch around page for the heart frame.  It is too bad she stopped making craft punches.  This is really a simple and fast design to create.

I have a funny story to tell you.  I have a squirrel buster bird feeder.  It has weights so anything heavier than a small bird the seed opening close up. I also have a whole peanut holder for the gorgeous Stellar Jays we have here in Washington.  They don't care for sun flowers seeds.  So the squirrel hasn't bothered the sun flower feeder but has been trying to get the peanuts.  Both of the feeders are on a metal Shepherds Hook.  The squirrel can actually climb up the metal pole to my surprise.  So I sprayed the pole with Pam cooking spray.  He slides down and now has given up trying to get the peanuts.

Materials:
Elizabeth Craft - Curvy Leaves
Martha Stewart - Punch Around The Page Sweethearts
Memory Box - Fabulous Phlox & Sentimental Be Mine
Nuvo Crystal Drops - Pink center of flowers
Spellbinders - Classic Square Large

  4. Wow!! A stunning card Diane. Love the beautiful flowers and the gorgeous colours. Love the squirrel story. We had a family that lived in our oak tree, where we used to live. They were always taking our peanut holders from the bird feeder stand. Hugs, Carol S.xx

  7. Beautiful Valentine card and I particularly like the wording. We have 3 squirrels visit our garden on a daily basis and have their own pot of nuts to eat. They leave the peanut holders for the birds alone and it is fun to watch them scampering down the trees of a morning as soon as they see The Doc out in the garden with the big bag of nuts ready to give them breakfast. Hugs Mrs A.

  8. So enjoyed reading your post and great solution how you have kept the squirrel away and I suspect you have chuckled when you've seen them sliding down the pole?
What a stunning card with a great design and great use of the dies and punch x

  9. Gorgeous flowers and heart frame, I was surprised when she stopped making her punches, but I guess I have a wall of them.
That is good to know about the pole, we have a bird feeder like you said but I have my suet on a shepherd hook, I can keep him away from that at least.

  11. My 3 year old nephew has told me that at his kindergarten there is a squirrel who eats all the birds’ food. Maybe I should share your tricks with my sister. Although, I think the kiddies quite like the squirrel.
What a beautiful and romantic design.

  12. Oh, how very pretty! I always admire your beautiful cards. I've tried to use punches, but I always mess up on the corners. I'll leave that craft to the truly artistic ladies like you! Squirrels are so persistent. It must be fun to watch him slide down the pole. I can't put out anything cloth on my deck because they rip it up for nesting materials. Sigh.....It's not easy living in the N.W.!!!!
