Birthday Slider Card Design

Slider Parts
I wanted to show you can make a slider card design without using a die.  You just need to cut the slider part at least 1" wide and then make a one inch mark on either end of the slider. My card was 6 inches wide so I marked mine at the 1 inch and 5 inch.  I used a hole punch and punched out the two one inch marks then used a craft knife and ruler to cut the channel on both sides.  Add a thin piece of mounting tape along the top and bottom, as shown in picture.  If slider is moving towards the right add the finale mounting tape on left side.

Next punch a circle I used 3/4" circle punch three times and glued them together.  Add the mounting tape in the center of circle, use two pieces on top of each other so it sticks up above the slider channel.  I cut the sliding piece  twice and glued them together just to make it stiffer mine is 1/2 inch wide it fits nicely into the channel and is 8 inches long.  Glue circle on end of sliding piece put into channel to make sure it moves smoothly.  If it does then attach to card with the sliding paper already inside the slider.

Materials:
Impression Obsession - Girl With Easter Basket
Lawn Fawn - Puffy Cloud Borders & Stitched Rectangle Scallop Frame
Martha Stewart _ Balloon punch
Poppy Stamps - Sentimental Happy Birthday
3/4" circle punch

  8. A gorgeous card Diane. I haven't made one for years and now you have inspired me to do one. The last one I did, was for a magazine and I designed the slider as a complete circle, with a butterfly. I still have it in a drawer!! So Thank you Diane, for a stunning, inspiring card. Big hugs, Carol S.xx
