Valentine Dreams

Good Morning, I hope everyone had a wonderful holiday. I always look forward to what the New Year brings and all the fun new dies that are released. I wanted to get started on a Valentine’s Day card since that will sneak up on us soon. The Swan die has so many uses I thought it would be fun to give it a little dimension by adding pink and white glitter leaves. Yes, you do have to die cut a lot but I think the end result is worth it. The big Splash border was a fun addition and placing the Lattice Heart & Vine in the center of the design connected the two swans to complete the card.

Materials:
Cheery Lynn Designs Lattice Heart & Vines
Memory Box Gentle Swan, Big Splash Border & Tender Leaves
Martha Stewart Heart  & Bow punch
White glitter cardstock (feathers)
Pink cardstock (feathers)
Darker Pink Swans
Gold glitter cardstock (bow)
Gold Rhinestone

Santa Stop Here (Poppystamps Design Team)

Greetings Fellow Crafters
Have I got a fun Holiday card for you.   It has been a while since I pulled out the Madison House Set die.  I coated the roof with glitter to make it stand out against the house.  For the background of the house I embossed with a brick pattern.  Then I added a fun patterned paper behind each window and attached pieces of the Sparkling Tree Lights over each window and door.  I crimped the snow bank and added some punched pinwheels and a Picket Fence.  Then tucked a Berry Sprig tree behind the fence and attached the Santa’s Magic Sleigh and Woodland Fawn to complete the top of roof.

Madison House Set
Sparkling Tree Lights
Picket Fence
Berry Sprig
Santa's Magic Sleigh
Woodland Fawn
Martha Stewart Bow

Madison Window Scene Card

The weather today is so gloomy I needed to create a bright fun card to remind me Summer is coming.

Die cut the Memory Box Small Madison Window, Lacy Curtains, Grand Flower Box and Meridian Border in white card stock. Attach curtain behind window frame and trim off excess. Find some cute patterned paper and die cut three Garden Pots.  Add pots gluing just at the bottom so you can attach Fabulous Phlox foliage into them and glue Primula Blooms flowers in place.

Cut out a 5" X 5½” piece of yellow card stock for front of card and attach Meridian Border, Window and finally Grand Flower Box.  Trim a white piece of card stock 5" X 11" score in half and attach yellow front to complete card.

Purple and White Spring Day

Good morning everyone.  The weather here has been so gloomy, rain, hail and thunderstorms.  I have wanted to create a card using the Spellbinders Nestabilities A2 Matting Basics A for a while now but just could not come up with a design.

Well since I am stuck indoors all day I had plenty of time to figure out something.

Die cut the Spellbinders A2 Matting Basic A (4⅛ x 5⅜” ) in White then (3⅝ x 4⅞”) in purple,  attach together.  Cut a larger purple piece to mat behind white cardstock.  Then die cut Opulent Oval in White and glue to center.

For leaves die cut  4 each in white and purple Memory Box Meadow Leaves
You will need several sets of Fabulous Phlox  in white and purple. Then just glue them alternating the colors and add Star Dust stickles to center of flowers. Attach flowers and leaves to left side of Oval.

For Butterfly punch out two pieces in each color, attach purple on top of white and then coat purple with 3D Crystal lacquer and sprinkle Art glitter. When dry attach to top part of Oval.

From the A2 Bracket Borders One pick one you like and die cut it in white and add purple cardstock to piece then attach to botton of card.  Finally attach completed piece to card stock below.

Trim white cardstock with Rotary cutter to 8' X 10'.  Score the card in the middle at the 5" line and use a bone folder to crease the edge of paper to form 5" X 8" card.

Materials:
Spellbinders Nestabilities A2 Matting Basic A (Square matted area)
Spellbinders Borderabilities A2 Bracket Borders One (Bottom of card)
Spellbinders Nestabilities Opulent Ovals (Center frame)
Memory Box Fabulous Phlox & Meadow Leaf (Bi-colored Flowers/leaves)
Martha Stewart Doublepunch  Monarch Butterfly
Sakura Hobby Craft 3D Crystal lacquer (coating for Butterfly)
Stickles Star Dust (flower centers)
Barbara Trombleys Art Glitter Paris (Purple Butterfly)

Clutch Bag Tutorial Card

Completed Clutch Bag Card

Folded/scored paper with frame slightly above fold. (Spellbinders Grand Nestabilities Grand Labels Four (4⅜ x 6⅞″ )

Trim for top of card. (Spellbinders Grand Nestabilities Grand Labels Four (4⅞ x 7⅝″)

Another fun shaped card that can be made in any size.  First take a white 8 1/2" X 11" cardstock and score in middle then fold in half.  Place Grand Labels Four die slightly above the fold and run through machine.  Now you have created a card that will stand upright.  Place Grand Labels Four (4⅜ x 6⅞″ ) die on single piece of red cardstock die cut, then emboss with Cuttlebug Brocade folder.  Attach to front of white card shape.  If you want to create the solid trim piece for top of clutch (picture 3) take larger die and place over small cut paper and run through machine.  Then just trim edges of piece before gluing.

Add two Madera corners and flowers adding red stickles to flower centers.
Die cut bow and coat with Stickles Icicles let dry and then attach to clutch.
For Clutch Latch punch out two 1/2" circles, attach each to a small strip of paper, coat with Stickles Icicle and when dry coat with Sakura 3D Crystal Lacquer. Attach to back of clutch.

Decorative Purse Tutorial

Completed Purse Card

Cut Edges to create shape

Same Technique just a different style

I had some leftover pieces from the Palace Oval Frame that I wanted to use so I thought it would be fun to create a purse card.  Take your 8 1/2" X 11" piece of cardstock and score in half then fold over.  Using a cutting mat with printed rule take a rotary cutter and ruler to cut off one side of the card.  Use the cut piece as your template to trim off the other side then cut so each side matches.  Now you almost  have a purse shape, with scissors trim off corners to give the purse rounded edges.

Purse handle is created using the two largest Classic Oval die together then emboss with Polka Dot folder.  Attach to back of card.

Using the Spellbinders Grand Nestabilities Labels Four die cut the shape and then cut piece in half.  Emboss with Polka Dot folder.  Attach to top of card.  Create Fabulous Phlox flower add a little Stickles Icicle Glue to the flower and when dry attach to top of purse.

Add center of Palace Oval Frame pieces in center under pink button and then Madera Corners and the completed Fabulous Phlox.

When complete the card will stand upright.

Materials:
Spellbinders Grand Nestabilities Labels Four (3⅜ x 5¼″) Top of Purse
Spellbinders Nestabilities Classic Ovals Large  (3¾ x 2¾″ & 3 x 2¼″) Handle
Cuttlebug Polka Dots Embossing Folder Top of purse and handle)
Memory Box Fabulous Phlox (Large Center Flower)
Memory Box Madera Corner (You need 2 corner pieces)
Primula Blooms (9 complete flowers)
Palace Oval Frame (Center piece and oval scalloped piece)
Stickles Icicle Glue

Simply White Delight

This was such a quick and easy card to make.  I first die cut the Decorative Labels Eight, then added the Palace Oval Frame to the center.  Next I die cut two sets of Fabulous Phlox and glued them together and added the Primula Blooms to the flower center.  I attached the die cut Small lace Faerie Queen to the bottom of Oval Frame.

To create the punched edge for card you need to cut a piece of cardstock 5" X 11".  Punch corners first and then work your way up the sides of paper.  I did not punch the back bottom of card.   When attaching Decorative Labels Eight fit piece inside punched area so top is slightly above the fold.

Materials:
Cherry Lynn Designs Small Lace Faerie Queen w/Angel Wing
Martha Stewart Eyelet Lace Punch Around the Page set
Memory Box Palace Oval Frame, Fabulous Pholx & Primula Blooms
Spellbinders Nestabilities Decorative Labels Eight (4 x 5⅝”)
Glue

The Curious Cat (Memory Box)

I really enjoy making greeting cards that tell a story and I thought and all white card would be fun to create.  So today my card is about the curious cat, perched on a fence deciding how to reach the butterflies nestled in the Oak tree.

To create the frame die cut the larger Labels Four and then use the smaller one to cut out the frame.  Apply mounting tape to the back of frame.  After die cutting the Oak tree, emboss with wood grain folder, apply Crystal Lacquer and let dry.  Attach Fence to back of frame, then Oak tree, add cat in front to frame, and use small amount of mounting tape to bike before attaching.  Sprinkle butterflies around tree and finish with bird.

Materials:
Memory Box Grand Oak Tree, Picket Fence, Bicycle, Curious Cat & Nestled Bird
Spellbinders M-Bossabilities WoodGrain Folder
Spellbinders Grand Nestabilities Labels Four (4⅜ x 6⅞″ & 3⅞ x 6″)
